Sereina Gabathuler

Born in 1981 in Schlieren and raised in Hedingen, Sereina Gabathuler completed a basic commercial training. She then spent a year abroad where she obtained her Cambridge Proficiency Certificate. Back in Switzerland, she worked for PAX Insurance for five years. At the same time she attended the EFAS (European Film Actor School) in Zurich between 2004 and 2007. This was followed by occasional appearances in front of the camera as well as on stage. Sereina Gabathuler has been working at Dschoint Ventschr Filmproduktion since January 2008, first as a production intern, then as a production assistant and production manager. She has been working as a producer since 2015. As a production and production manager, she supervised numerous projects, including David Sieveking's «David Wants to Fly», which premiered at the Berlinale in 2010. She gained her first experience as a producer with the NIFF 2013 award-winning short film «Palim, Palim» by Marina Klauser and Pia Hellenthal. Most recently, she was instrumental in the completion of the Anima doc «Chris the Swiss» as executive producer, which premiered at Cannes 2018. In 2019, she was selected for the renowned EFP programme "Producers on the Move" on the recommendation of SWISS FILMS. After her intensive first experience in animation, in connection with the production of «Chris the Swiss», Sereina Gabathuler has steadily developed in this field. With the co-productions «Paolos Glück» and «Ein Fall für Maëlys» she entered the children's sector for the first time. She is currently working intensively on the development of the animation series «Nussbaumbande», which is conceived as a classic "Guetnachtgschichtli". In 2022 she founded her own production company «Roundabout Film GmbH» with which she offers consultant work and produces first projects.
